Fitting heating controls

You don’t need to wait until your boiler, or radiators, are replaced to install heating controls.

You should have a room thermostat, and thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) in all other rooms. Speak to your local heating engineer, they will know what to do and be able help.

A room thermostat is usually wall mounted, either in the hallway or living room, and is connected to the boiler. Wireless thermostats are also available which makes installation even easier.

TRVs can be fitted to existing radiators - no wiring is necessary. Ask for ones with the ‘Keymark.’, proving they have been tested for quality, reliability and performance.

If you have an old room thermostat or TRVs it can be well worth replacing them with modern ones which will provide even better comfort and lower energy bills.
